Dear Chocolate Life Supporters,

We'd like to extend a special invitation to our upcoming event on Saturday evening January 16th in San Francisco at the Hotel Nikko! This year our event includes our Members Gallery Showcase, the Educational Program, and our Industry Cocktail Reception.

6-7:30PM Educational Program; Mystery, Myths, and Facts of Chocolate Health Benefits

Check-in opens at 5PM. As you make your way to claim a seat for the educational program, you’ll pass through our Members Gallery Showcase. The
Gallery features a variety of new products from several of our members. Stop by for a tasty treat and a chat with your fellow chocolatiers, chocolate makers and industry suppliers. But, don’t eat all the samples at once--save them for dessert after enjoying the delicious gourmet buffet (available between 5-7PM).

Our Educational Program starts around 6:00PM and explores the Mystery, Myth and Facts of Chocolate Health Benefits. There’s a lot of information out there; good, bad, and in-between.

Our panel of chocolate experts will help us makes sense of it all, discuss the physiological and psychological benefits of chocolate, and answer your questions. This is sure to be an interesting and spirited discussion which we hope you can be a part of. Check out our blog post and add questions you'd like panel of experts to address!

Panelists include:
* Clay Gordon;, will talk about the dangers of over-promising and under-delivering on health claims made for chocolate; specifically - using ORAC numbers as the basis for claims.
* David A. Stuart: Director, Natural Product Sciences; The Hershey Company, will share news about their ongoing and latest chocolate health benefit studies.
* Catherine Kwik-Uribe, PhD and research scientist for Mars has authored and co-authored numerous articles on cocoa flavanols and their health benefits; she'll share her expertise and help clarify information on this topic.
* Joan Steuer; President of Chocolate Marketing, will talk about the psychological health benefits of chocolate.

I'm sure you'll agree that this is an amazing panel.

Around 7:30 we’ll shift our focus from educational to social with our Industry Cocktail Reception. This is an amazing opportunity to mingle with others in the chocolate industry, meet new friends and catch up with those we don’t get to see as often as we’d like. The last time we hosted this kind of reception, people didn’t want to leave!
