The Samoan Islands are celebrating their 50th Anniversary of Independence this year and we were thinking whether there was any interest out there in joining us......with a Samoan Chocolate Festival 2012.
Inviting choco-sumers and chocophiles and chocolate roasters to come and experience Samoa's cocoa industry.
We have drafted an exciting programme for September 2012 to cover the history of cocoa in Samoa, past, present and future.
You would be invited to spend 7-Days with Samoa's leading cocoa growers and members of the cocoa industry, you would be traditionally welcomed in the Samoan way, billetted with local families on their cocoa plantations, offered opportunities to tour both Upolu and Savaii Islands' best cocoa plantations, even making your own Koko Malu (cocoa mass). There would be plenty of entertainment and interest generated in reviving Samoa's cocoa industry. We are striving for the best Trinitario cocoa production, fermentation and roasting. If interested, please email firstname.lastname@example.org - it's only a thought at this stage but our growers are meeting this evening to discuss its merits. Personally, I think the idea is wonderful and our cocoa growers need your support - and we can share with you all our local chocolate (cocoa) recipes ideal for breakfast lunch and dinner
Tentative Dates - 1-8 September 2012 (To be confirmed)
