Chocolate In India

Along with Australia and Hawaii, a very large number of ChocolateLife members are in India. ChocolateLife member Subhashini Rajasekaran asked me to put together this group as a place to gather and discuss.

Location: Worldwide
Members: 45
Latest Activity: on Wednesday

A note from Subhashini Rajasekaran-

I am going to start a venture for sustainable socially-conscious growth of cocoa and chocolate products in india.

I have even found access to 5 acres of land in the Tamil Nadu / Kerala belt where the climate is suitable that will also allow the engagement of the youth in the village community in the development.

Please introduce yourself in the comments section and feel free to start discussions about any topic related to cacao and chocolate in India.

Hey guys,

It's been a while since I have been here but the good news is I am in India and opening my own restaurant in Goa. After having worked for Michelin chefs in London, Chicago, Florida and San Francisco I have decided to try out in goa.
Subhashini - think you doing a great job and would love to eventually sample some local cacao.

My wife tells a story of the chocolates of Tamil nadu. She calls the backpacker stories, I think they sound like amazing fairy tales which need to be explored.

I currently make chocolate in Costa Rica.  But in 2000 I went to India and have wanted to return ever since. Maybe someday chocolate will take me back to India!

Hi guys,

Clay, Subhashini, great job on the website / group..

Antara, great job with your venture.

This can well grow into the perfect networking platform for chocolate connoisseurs and entrepreneurs alike.

As for me, I've been an enthusiast ever since I can remember, and i would love to turn that passion into a profession. Hoping to network with, and learn from some  connoisseurs.

Regards,

Div

Hi Subhashini, I m quite glad to see tat u r starting cocoa plantations here in india.. I am a chocolatier based out of Mumbai and would love to check out your products for my brand..

Our chocolates are made keeping in mind our customers and what they wish to have rather than going the opposite way.. you will find we have some unique combinations in our product list which goes quite wonderfully with a marriage of east and west tastebuds. you may check our work on our online shop/website, www.antarachocolates.com.. Our idea is simple, no indian shud b deprived of these brown treats, because they stay in small cities and towns. we have logistics partners, who deliver our chocolates to the doorstep of one and all..
