Tracking System for production of chocolates

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any suggestions or examples of a tracking system they use in the event of a recall so you know which products need to be recalled and which do not? I am thinking of a simple system using number, code, best before date, etc..

Any feedback or experience to share?

I just use a simple excel spreadsheet that tracks ingredients by date, vendor, item, item's lot number and my lot number(s) that the ingredient has gone in to. I'd be interested in hearing how others are tracking.

Thanks for replies re/tracking system. My husband is a database manager he is taking these into account and creating a system for me. I will share when it is complete. :)
