Hmm...yes, in the US but they weren't "available"...import regulations being what they are. More like someone forgot to leave them behind when they returned from a bean sourcing trip.
My first encounter with fresh pods was actually at the Chocolate Show a few years back. Cluizel's table was selling them, and I couldn't resist. The next year I asked if they'd have more and they were *very* cagey.

Where is this picture taken? In the US? It's pretty hard to get fresh pods here so if you did find them here in the US I'd like to know where.
