I spent a number of half days in the library reading books on cacao and chocolate in the DR. I want to thank Orlando Rodriguez, Marisol Ventura and the librarian for spending time with me answering my questions and discussing cacao. Alex Nunez and I also met about the production of balls of chocolate paste by the different women's groups in the country.
They were editing a survey they will be conducting with cacao farmers all over the country to follow up on extension services which have been provided over the last 10 years concerning improving quality and production.
