Years ago, I was an event coordinator in San Diego. One day, a lady called and wanted help arranging her birthday party that she was throwing for herself. She was going to be 65 and was beginning her life again after grieving her husband of many years, who had died a couple of years before. She sounded like such a great lady and I was enjoying our talk and hoping for the booking. I asked for the details of the party, such as how many people, type of venue desired, time of day, budget, and the theme. When we got to the theme part, I knew the booking was mine! She said she wanted a chocolate party!!!! She wanted everything possible in chocolate. Oh my, I was willing to do this party for free!!! And everything chocolate she received. We had chocolate decorations, party favors, desserts of so many kinds it was necessary to eat light at dinner in order to try all the chocolate treats. The birthday girl wore a chocolate corsage, and chocolate drop earrings (and a handsome widower took a bite of one during a particularly nice waltz). It was one of my favorite jobs during my event coordinator years. I'm thinking of duplicating much of it for my 65th.
