As a teenager, I worked in a local ice cream store/manufacturer. I worked my way up, from being a counter person, waiting on customers~dipping cones, etc., to the manufacturing side of the business. I was one of two people that made ALL the ice cream that we sold. There was a big window in the ice cream parlor where patrons could look in & watch you go about your work.
One particular day, I was making plain ol chocolate ice cream. The chocolate syrup that was used to make it was kept in a large milk can, about 10 gallon size. We then used a measured dipper to put the syrup in the mixer. We used a modified two-wheeler to move the heavy milk cans around. I went to retrieve a full can of chocolate syrup so as to start making the chocolate ice cream. The two wheeler had a hook on it that 'hooked' one of the handles on the milk can.
I 'wheeled' the full milk can from another area, about 80 feet from where the mixer was. As I approached the ice cream mixer I was working at, the 'hook' on the two wheeler broke. The milk can fell, & being very heavy, it hit the floor hard enough for the lid to pop out. Chocolate was going everywhere!!! For whatever reason, I immediately looked up to the big window, about 10 feet away & there was 6-8 people watching me. Needless to say, I was quite embarrassed. The cleanup wasn't too bad. I just used a steam hose that we used each day to clean up all of our equipment. Goodness, 10 gallons of chocolate down the drain!!
I hope that my story didn't make anyone cry.
My favorite chocolate is:
white & milk
