Most memorable chocolate experience:
Probably the first time I had a "Brut de Claudio Corallo" bar from Pralus. It was the first time I spent $16 for a bar of chocolate, but so worth it.
My favorite chocolate is:

My Chocolate Life is a bit neglected...

Posted on September 2, 2009 at 11:00am 1 Comment

That´s why I popped on here the other day and invited all of the chocolatiers I know to join. I miss focusing on chocolate, like I was in Jerusalem. Now I´m working on getting my English Coaching and Translating business started, which pushed chocolate to the back burner.

My big excitement is that I finally splurged and bought myself Valrhona cacao at KaDeWe (Kaufhof des Westens, the Harrods of Berlin) and it is so marvelous to be able to drink the dregs and not have that sandy stuff… Continue

Chocolate in Berlin

Now I´m in Berlin and writing about chocolate has taken on a slower pace, but I´m still doing it. Now I´m even posting on http://chocolatespeak.blogspot.com in German and English.

Chocolate in Israel

I am spending the year in Israel with the goal of interviewing every chocolatier in the country. So far I'm about halfway through. If you have questions about choc in Israel or kosher chocolate, I'm your woman. My blog, Chocolatespeakis also a great resource.

We are working on it. Season 2009 XMAS should be fun and we should be available in more places.

Hello Sandra, thanks much for helping me focus again on the art of real chocolate tasting! It was a dense yet reviving premium chocolate tasting experience. Looking forward to many more! Did you check my newsletter info on whisky and chocolate tasting? We have two dates now: Sept 18 and 19. See you soon!

Hi Sandra- are there many chocolatiers in Israel? Do you have any wrappers of Israeli choc or photos of shops you can post here for us all to enjoy?

Sandra:

Welcome to The Chocolate Life. All anyone here in the US knows about chocolate from Israel is Max Brenner. It's sort of like the rest of the world thinking that the only chocolate in the US is Hershey. I look forward to learning more about your goal to visit every chocolate shop in Israel while you are there.

I totally agree about the Claudio Carallo bar. Mr Pralus himself was in New York about 15 months ago and gave me a tasting that featured this bar. Worth every penny.
