I also find that adding a squirt dark choc syrup and/or a scoop of coffee adds a special kick to choc cake & brownies....can you share any secret baking tips?

Welcome to The Chocolate Life. A family secret chocolate cake recipe? I was watching a Food Network program here in the US this week and one chocolate cake recipe had crushed tomatoes in it. Adds a little richness, sweetness, and complexity - but a different kind of sweetness than sugar. Is your family secret weirder than that?
