About Me

I'm a fashion stylist turned official chocoholic. For me, there is a craving for authenticity and appreciation for innovation that exists in both worlds. I think I received my chocolate 'calling' when I came back from Paris and Italy last summer. More than half of my luggage was filled with chocolates! Chocolates for family, for friends, for friends of friends... I mean, who doesn't love chocolate? It was then that the idea of Chocoasis.com was born. I wanted to share all my chocolate discoveries and discuss every detail of each bar. I started the company to celebrate. To celebrate the cultural significance of chocolate and the creative spirit of the chocolate makers that pour so much passion into creating one really good bar. It's great to be a part of this community and I'm looking forward to connecting, learning and sharing with you all!

Most memorable chocolate experience:: Growing up in the Philippines, my first introduction to chocolate was hot chocolate made of 'tablea' (PURE chocolate tablets made from cacao beans with very little sugar added). I'm very fortunate to have friends that own cacao farms. On one farm/friend visit, I was invited to make tableas and chocolate bars from scratch! It was an amazing experience to see and be part of the process from start to finish.

My favorite chocolate is:: Tough question - it changes every year. The bars i can never say no to are Bonnat, Askinosie, Valrhona, Pralus, Original Beans. the list continues to grow...
