Chocolate - renewable energy to fuel the car of the future?

I'm all for cutting down on fuel costs with gasoline approaching $150/barrel this summer. One possibility is to use chocolate waste for fuel. Here's the link for more information:

Gwen, thanks for responding. When we were in Belize - we discovered that disease was affecting a great deal of the cacao crop and that the farmers were being taught (by the cooperative) grafting techniques to make the trees disease resistant. Since nothing should be wasted - I'm wondering if the diseased cacao would be useful for fuel development(versus chocolate).

Holly & Paul -- All the latest news out of Detroit is about retooling factories and making a permanent move to manufacture more subcompact, fuel efficient cars in the US. One real challenge is in creating a reliable distribution network where people can "gas" up their bio-fueled vehicles. I have no doubt that Detroit has the infrastructure and engineering talent to produce the vehicles. The high price of oil is giving them the motivation (and loss of sales) to put their prototypes and European models into the hands of US consumers. It will be interesting to see if a connection between cacao and cars will ever develop :-)
