Most memorable chocolate experience:
Visiting an actual cacao plantation while on a culinary tour with Elain Gonzalez in Oaxaca, Mexico. Meeting the farmers, their kids, and sharing the sweet/sour pulp of the cacao pods with them was an unforgettable experience!
My favorite chocolate is:
Not a brand but the flavor of dark choc with cinnamon, coconut, and/or toffee
Chocolate is my comfort zone, my zen, my happy place-I visit every day and feel SO blessed & very lucky to be able to celebrate & eat so many varieties of chocolate so often. I am also a collector of all things related to it- most notably choc bar wrappers from around the world (ck out my photos). I see them as ART-I believe that the packaging says as much about the creator as the chocolate itself, be it a small artisan or large corp. Wrappers and ads are a creative statement and show the personality and flavor of the chocolatier, in my opinion a valuable one, and I simply can't throw these works of art away. So I have them lovingly organized in albums that go back 20+ years. I adore choc & am equally enamored of how it is marketed, packaged & advertised to the buying public internationally to catch our eye and make us crave what's inside (I almost majored in advertising, but chose the airline biz instead so I could travel around to amazing choco-adventures on a small budget). I also collect chocolate print ads, books, brochures & photos of all the choc shops I've visited in the world..... So here I will be able to finally share/show my collection and hopefully meet others with similar passions and engage in discussions about our favorite subject....ahhh the internet is a wonderful thing....and chocophiles are a special kind of people. Choc on.
PS- I also have a little M&M fetish so ck out my new blog for a look at new and old M&M wrappers and updates on brand NEW choc products on the shelves: http://chocolatemmtraveler.blogspot.com
PSS- If anyone would like to donate wrappers to a very good cause (my collection) please let me know by email or comments here (Im willing to trade/barter too). I REALLY appreciate any you can send my way, especially any NON-American kinds that are harder to find. Thank you!

Hey there, I found my Felchlin bar at Food Emporium on 3rd at 68th Street. They're the only place I know of that carries them, besides Clay, of course.

I am new to all of this, so I'm not sure how this works, but I just read your profile and I swear it was me. I also love chocolate and have been collecting books and anything that has to do with chocolate. I also eat M&Ms everyday. I have a small chocolate business in my home. I make truffles and am self taught. Still learning as I go. I also work as a server on off seasons. I need to get a real picture of me, working on that. Do you have posters to sell or ideas for a wall in my kitchen?

Hi!

Yes Hachez is a German chocolate manufacturer. I reviewed the bar in the picture you commented on. You can go see the review on my new blog. http://www.chocodark.com.

Be warned this is my first blog.

Hello! To answer your question, Quinoa is a pseudocereal. It's treated like rice or couscous. The closest thing I could compare it to isNestle "Crunch". The website is elceibo.org.

Hi there!
The buffet at the Peninsula is offered every fri and sat. It is worth a try if you're ever in the Chicago area.

Hi Chocolfyer

Divine is a perfect word to describe the G collection.
I think Norman Love designed the chocolates for Godiva

You could go to Nashville with us for Labor Day - see World Pastry Team Championship info in the right column. Should be relatively inexpensive.
